Sharon’s mission in life is to inspire others to achieve their potential, through coaching, mentoring and leadership.
Demonstrating a fundamental belief that everyone can live a fulfilled life and achieve their career and personal aspirations.
Sharon is a successful leader working in public service. Years of austerity and the recent pandemic and war in Ukraine have required Sharon to lead large scale transformation programmes to maintain vital services to the people of Essex. Sharon is an inclusive leader who recognises that high performing teams are made up of individuals who believe in themselves, have a desire to develop, learn and achieve their aspirations. Coaching has been the foundation of her success, creating psychologically safe and trusted partnerships.
In her coaching practice Sharon works with her team and clients to develop their personal, professional, and business goals using active listening and a range of creative tools and techniques. Powerful questioning and thought-provoking conversations allow clients to gain a deeper understanding of their situation; identify limiting thoughts and patterns of behaviour and are supported to shift and change their perceptions of problems into opportunities and solutions.
Sharon’s style is described as compassionate, supportive, and encouraging. She keeps the client’s wellbeing at the heart of coaching whilst respectfully challenging and holding clients to account. Coaching provides the space in which the client can identify strategies and plans to move them closer to their potential, overcome any barriers in the way and achieve sustainable change.
Background
Sharon’s leadership career started in the leisure industry, Islington London after leaving school at 16. Learning on the job initially and then being sponsored to undertake the ISRM (Institute of Sport and Recreation Management Diploma). Sharon worked in a range of swimming pools and leisure centres learning every day for a period of 10 years. Her second career started in 2003 after becoming a mum, working as a receptionist for Essex County Council. Over the years she achieved promotion and is currently heading up a team of over 500 employees providing support services to the whole organisation. Sharon is highly experienced in customer service, operational, people and change management, strategic planning and delivering transformation. She also understands the challenges of leadership, the need to achieve great work life balance and meet the needs of a family.
